An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping, and was a member of the Turkey Swamp Rod and Gun Club, Freehold. John enjoyed bowling and gardening, and spending time with his family. Hawthorne was a CDL driver for C&L Sweepers, Jackson. Born in Neptune Township, he lived in Freehold prior to moving to Jackson Township 29 years ago.
